THIS PROGRAM IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19.
High School Spirit seeks to immerse students in lunch time and spirit day extra-curricular activities focused on fun and participation. HS Spirit is dedicated to providing an opportunity to take part in an inclusive and fun environment while adding to a students’ sense of belonging to their school.
The HS Spirit Program requires a Teacher Sponsor to create a Healthy Active Living Team (HALT). This committee should share the vision of wanting to keep students active for life! It will be HALT’s responsibility to plan and implement fun recreational activities based on the discovered interests of their fellow students.
The HS Spirit Manual is a resource for fun games and activities to implement during special events and spirit days, as well as for round robin tournament brackets to set up a recreational intramural league.
A start-up grant of $300 will be provided to SSNL Full Members who have their HALT members in place, along with a plan for the first two months of activities. This grant can be used to purchase necessary items to begin a student driven intramural program.
Students who volunteer as HALT Members will receive a $7 per hour honorarium (once career hours have been met). It is up to the student and teacher sponsor to track these hours and submit them.
To register your HALT, please email Courtney [email protected] the student names, along with their plan for activities.
